March Madness had a former Bishop involved this year as Nik Cvetinovic ‘08 made his national television debut as a member of the University of Akron Zips.On Thursday night the Zips played the Gonzaga Bulldogs at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon.The partisan Gonzaga crowd witnessed a great game between the two teams with Nik contributing throughout.Nik, a 6’8”, 230 pound freshmen, was a constant force with several highlight moves including one spin move and basket on the baseline against a much larger player.He ended the game with 7 points on 3-6 shooting with 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Akron hung tough with the higher seeded Bulldogs for most of the game before falling behind late in the second half and eventually losing 77-64.
Congratulations to Nik for a great game and great season.
