Former Bishop to play football in Germany

Former Bishop quarterback Ryan Alexander ’04 is headed off to Germany this fall to play professional football with the Darmstadt Diamonds (follow link to view the team’s homepage).  Alexander, who graduated from Davidson College in December, leaves the school as the all-time leader in passing yards (9,376), total offense (9,680), passing touchdowns (72) and completions (775). 

Ryan is the son of current VES head football coach Kyle Alexander and the younger brother of Stephen Alexander ’01, offensive coordinator for the Bishop football team, and the older brother of Daniel Alexander ’10 who is the current Bishop quarterback. 

Ryan also was recently awarded a 2009 Male College student-athlete leadership award for Mecklenburg County.  Please follow this link to read the article about his award.
