New Alumni Director Appointed
Wednesday, October 31, 2007
It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Leslie King as the school’s Director of Alumni Relations. Her appointment is good news for VES and reflects a career change for Leslie who, until now, has been a pharmacist by academic degree and profession.
While it is always nice to find someone who has direct experience with the task at hand, I will gladly take an inexperienced person if he or she has intelligence and passion for the work – Leslie clearly possesses both.
As the mother of two currently enrolled sons, Bennett ’10 and Brier ’11, Leslie is connected to the school. She is a frequent volunteer at school functions, whether driving a bus to Wintergreen, serving as a team mother, or decorating for the Bishops Bash. She and her husband, Meade King, who serves in the advancement office, also have a daughter, Beth Ann.
Among her duties, Leslie will work to establish an Alumni Council consisting of volunteers from key geographic areas. Together, they will promote meaningful ways for alumni (and others) to be involved in the life of VES. She will plan both on- and off-campus events, creating programs that strengthen the commitment of alumni to one another and to VES.
Leslie is dedicated to what we are trying to achieve in our centennial (2016) journey and we are fortunate to have her fully engaged in our school community. Please join me in welcoming Leslie to VES.
